Inertial motion capture and modeling
Context :
The study of biomechanics and particularly the analysis of movement requires very often to move from the laboratory to the field. Motion capture systems by inertial means are an excellent tool for measurement in ecological conditions due to their speed of implementation and freedom of measurement, and can thus complement the motion capture systems by optical means conventionally used in laboratory condition. The possibility of using common processing and modeling routines between these different tools is a major asset for the application of research. The objective of this workshop is to present the integration of inertial data into the Visual3D and OpenSim biomechanical analysis and modeling tools.
Content of the workshop: We will introduce the Xsens inertial motion capture system with a demonstration of its use, from set-up to data recording. We will then present the export possibilities of this inertial data and the gateways to the Visual3D and OpenSim biomechanical analysis and modeling tools. The functionalities of these software will also be introduced. These demonstrations will be followed by a moment of discussion around the tools presented.
